Featured Dogs
Some of our dogs have been in foster care longer than most. They are happy, healthy, and well-adjusted dogs but may not be the most desirable 'looking'. If you can look beyond the 'package' and into the heart of the dog, one of these special mutts may be for you.
My Little Milo

'My Little Milo' as he is lovingly referred to has no mandible (lower jaw). We have no idea why as he was found tied to our front entrance one day. Since that time, he has been neutered, thoroughly groomed, had his few remaining teeth cleaned. All his bloodwork came back just fine. Milo came into rescue at an emeciated 4.5 lbs. He is now at his ideal weight of 6 lbs. His apricot colored fur is filling in nicely and he just feels good, now. His spunky little personality is shining through, too. The vet estimates Milo to be about 10+ years old. For a teacup, this is middle aged. So, spunky little Milo has many good years ahead of him. Milo eats dry, small-bites kibble from a bowl just fine. He drinks water just fine. It just takes him a bit longer than other dogs. Milo is a happy, animated, little guy. When we come home, he bounces around and does a funky little happy dance. And, of course, that tongue starts to wag as fast as his nubby tail. We feel Milo would be happiest with a retired person/couple or someone who is home most of the day who want a little snuggle buddy. If any one of us looked like this, I doubt we would be as jubilant and grateful. Milo has a lot of love to give and all he asks is in return is that we not focus on his deformity but rather honor his spirit and great attitude.
